Security: How do I know if a site is secure?
You will know if a website is secure, if you can see the padlock in the status bar, around the bottom right hand corner of the web browser window. Similar to the image below;
If you cannot see a status bar, you will need to click on 'View' in the browser's menu, and select status bar. It should now become ticked, and you should be able to see the status bar. It is a good idea to make sure a website is secure when doing any transactions over the internet, such as shopping or internet banking. This way you will know that your details are being securely sent to the company you are ordering from.
