Buying a Digital Camera
When buying a digital camera, you will need to take a number of factors into
account. Such as your intended use, your photography experience, and your
budget.
Your intended use would look at the number of pixels a camera has, and the quality of the end image. If you just want to use the camera for day to day
photos, a lower resolution would suit you, however, if you are a professional photographer - you would consider a more higher number of pixels. Having more pixels, the better the quality of
your pictures, however, the image sizes will also increase, thus there will be less room on your camera's memory card.

If you already own a digital camera, and you are upgrading to a newer model -
you may wish to take into account the sort of memory card you already are using.
If you look for a camera with the same memory card type, then this will save you
money, as you then wouldn't have to purchase a new card.
How Many Pixels?
Again, this really depends upon the
factors above (use, experience, and
budget). If you just wish to post or email pictures on the internet, a low
resolution camera (1-2 megapixels) would be just fine. If you wish to print out
your pictures, the amount of resolution that you will need will be based off of
the size of the picture that you will be printing as well as any editing that
you will be doing. A resolution of between 2 and 4 megapixels should be adequate
for standard size photos.
